Doesn't seem threatening yet, but at any moment you could have a focused, non-terminal, repeating phantasm or a class-five full-roaming vapor on your hands. Who you gonna call?

The Sopwith Camel is among the most significant and famous of all WWI aircraft. Camels downed 1,294 enemy aircraft, more than any other Allied fighter in WWI. Pilots initially found the Camel challenging and dangerous. The controls were sensitive, and it could turn tightly because much of the weight, including the engine, fuel, machine guns, and pilot, was at the front of the airplane. The gyroscopic effect of the powerful rotary engine also contributed to its maneuverability. Almost as many pilots were killed in accidents as died in combat flying the Camel.

The "Broad Arrow" mark on this 12-pound iron cannonball signified it as property of the British Board of Ordnance. British guns on land and aboard ships in Boston Harbor "kept an incessant fire" of iron shot and shells on the New England troops at the Battle of Bunker Hill. British Major General John Burgoyne, who witnessed the roar of the guns that day, described it as "one of the greatest scenes of war that can be conceived."

On weekend evenings in Old City there's usually music in the air. In this moment Stanley Morgan was out playing his bongos and bringing a vibrant energy to the corner of 2nd and Chestnut. Known as Atakatune, Stanley was a musical veteran, a percussionist for 40 years with the Sun Ra Arkestra, a well known jazz and experimental music ensemble and pioneers of afrofuturism. On October 17, 2018, the Arkestra made the sad announcement that Stanley had "departed this planet." His rhythms still echo around the block, greeting passersby in the coming twilight.
