It's a long way from the living room floor to the hiking trail in the park, and yet somehow this lost Lego brick is here. Is anyone looking for it? Do they know it's lost? Maybe it had hitched a ride in a little person's pocket and escaped through a hole. Or maybe it broke off the Red Five X-Wing fighter that dad had insisted on "flying" along the path.

What was once an old schoolhouse is now a home, and an evolving history is present all around. A Greek Revival-style building with a front-gable roof and a stone foundation, hardwood floors and paneled doors reflects a past from the 1840s. Even the engravings of the metal door knob speak to the unity across time. Turn these interlocking rings and step into the future.

Between 1800 and 1830, Philadelphia buried miles of wooden water pipes to carry millions of gallons of Schuylkill River water into the city. These pipes serviced homes and businesses, but also provided water to clean dirty city streets. And in a fire emergency, firefighters dug down to the closest wooden water pipe, drilled a hole through the log, and siphoned water to battle deadly flames.
