Once you've boiled the eggs, cut them in half, scooped the yolks and mashed them with mayonnaise, dijon and spices, the last step is to refill them. You could just smear a blob of the yolk paste with a spoon, but why not finish with a flair? Use a piping bag for a decorative swirl and top it off with paprika and toasted chives. Devilish!

An elephant's ear is huge to be sure, probably the biggest ear on the planet earth. So it makes sense that if you roll out some pastry dough into a huge flat Round shape, coat it with sugar and cinnamon and bake it to a light and flaky crust, that you would call it an Elephant Ear. The Big Wheel, the Sugar Frisbee, the Manhole Cover – none of those names are quite right.

A manhole cover by another name might be a “maintenance hole" or "utility hole" or “access port" or "service port". Those are just simple functional identifications. But how is it designed? What shapes and patterns make it distinctive? Paint one with bold, colorful, geometric forms and you can call it “art.”

Back in the Middle Ages, you could be condemned to death for wearing stripes. Apparently a striped aesthetic was too weird and diabolical for public safety, dubbed ‘the devil’s cloth’ and worn by social outcasts like prostitutes, jugglers and clowns. Stripes feature frequently in German Expressionist works and art with gothic themes. So who has decorated their doorstep this way? Beetlejuice?
