Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon? Every year in September pilots from all around the world bring their giant, hot air inflatable Rounds to The Adirondack Balloon Festival at Floyd Bennett memorial airport in Queensbury, New York. One of the oldest and largest events in the U.S. was created in early 1973, the first event hosting 18 balloonists. Within a decade that number had grown to 150, with annual attendance typically exceeding 175,000 people. And while the Festival doesn’t schedule rides, many of the participating pilots will book rides independently.
