This giant spool out back probably once was wound with cable or tubing of some sort. If someone doesn't come back to get it soon, we'll really enjoy converting it to a table for our pop-up beer garden.

A sphere marks the center of Teachers Fountain in Portland, Oregon’s Simon and Helen Director Park, with an open pool where visitors can wade and interact with arcing jets and low burbles of water. A marble pillar reads, "Teachers Fountain is dedicated to teachers everywhere in honor of their selfless and untiring efforts to inspire the hearts and minds of their students. The work they do enriches all of our lives." The fountain was a contribution to the city from the Director and Moyer families in partnership with the Portland Parks Foundation and built in 2009.

With 27,000 square feet to spare, the Turf Club might be able to accommodate. Just head down to South Philly's stadiums and look for the revolving Round marking the spot.

On hot days in the city there are ways to cool off. You could hit the rec center pool. A fire hydrant could be opened. Over at Dilworth Park at City Hall in Philadelphia, the plaza is equipped with a walk-in fountain where dozens of water jets bubble and shoot streams up for people to dodge. Give that a go!
