Deep within the blown glass vase, the candle heat has pushed upward until the glowing magma-like forms erupt like orange flowers around the crater’s edge. It contains 115 images, spoken greetings in 55 languages, and music selected by a committee chaired by astronomer Carl Sagan. This disc is a duplicate of those carried on the two Voyager spacecraft, which were launched in 1977 and traveled to the outer planets and beyond.
