"Sounds of Earth" contains sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth. It contains 115 images, spoken greetings in 55 languages, and music selected by a committee chaired by astronomer Carl Sagan. This disc is a duplicate of those carried on the two Voyager spacecraft, which were launched in 1977 and traveled to the outer planets and beyond.
