First, get it on the table and hold it steady to slice in half with a heavy chef's knife. Then, separate the front shoulder from the ribs, scoop out the guts from the inner cavity, and start trimming off some of the outer skin. Working a section at a time, separate the chops from the belly and cut into smaller roasts. What, we're not butchering a hog?

Inside the 6-cylinder Anzani radial aircraft engine is a beautiful arrangement of six cam-dive gears clustered around the central dive gear. The six cylinders and the crankcase cover were removed when I took this picture during its restoration in 2002. This engine was used on the 1915 Laird biplane (B-4) which is in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Matty Laird designed and built the aircraft and was an early barnstormer flying this plane for aerobatics and stunts. It is unusual to see even-numbered cylinders on radial engines because they tend to develop vibrational harmonics.

The Pane di Pasqua, or Easter Bread, is one of the most popular specialties at Termini Brothers Bakery in South Philadelphia, and has been a classic Easter tradition for generations. The twisted bread is symbolic of the Christian Lenten season, with hard-boiled eggs baked inside as representing rebirth and the Resurrection. Gather around!
