Our man Pliny The Elder surmised that a full moon causes more dew to form, therefore moisture in the brain increases, leading to madness. Now that is looney!

One of the iconic symbols of Halloween, a pointy witch hat is all Round when viewed from below. The standard style is an all black conical shape, sometimes bent like a crooked branch, with a wide brim. Nowadays you can choose from a variety of colors as a decoration or a costume for dramatic holiday flair, maybe covered in cobwebs, spiders, strung with lights, or billowing smoke, if you so desire.

Check out this reptile's fancy finger flying. Nyctosaurus's (pterosaur) long wings look a bit like those of a modern seabird. But unlike a bird or a bat, its wing is supported by one very long finger. It soared over the Delaware region during the Cretaceous period 144-65 million years ago. The Cretaceous lasted 79 million years and marked the end of the Mesozoic Era and the fall of the dinosaurs.
