Some days are two egg days and some days are six egg days. This was a good day in the hen house. It might be due to the weather or selective breeding or maybe even the social pecking order. The talk around the coop is, while Henrietta really works hard for the clutch she sure is jealous of Sugar's beautiful plumage.

Selenographists started mapping the moon probably the first moment it appeared in the sky. The oldest known illustration of the moon dates to around 3300 BC and was found in a tomb in County Meath, Ireland. A mere 5,200 years later Neil Armstrong made one giant leap for mankind.

An hourglass within a sundial, both symbols of time passing. If time is linear, why is the passing of time round? A sundial reveals the continual passage of the sun, a cycle that determines our understanding of time. An hourglass marks an inevitable end, moments trickling away with each grain of sand.

This twisted twig tunnel swirls around the Renwick Gallery forming huge nest-like sculptures. Created by sculptor Patrick Dougherty, it was one of many awe inspiring installations in the "Wonder" exhibition for the re-opening of the Renwick in 2015.

The blues, baby. This lonely unadorned blue Round might perfectly resemble a Blue Christmas without you. The song made famous by Elvis is the forlorn crooning of unrequited love made all the more painful because of the holidays. He may be so blue just thinking about you, but the song has had no problem finding friends over the years. No less than 60 different performers have pined away, including Doyle O'Dell (original), Loretta Lynn, The Beach Boys, the Johnny's Cash AND Mathis, Kelly Clarkson, Patti LaBelle, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, The Lumineers, and... you guessed it...

If you're worried about your tracheal and pharyngeal airway management or continuous naso-gastric drainage, then this is the vacuum for you. Not that you'd need it every day, its just nice to know that when you're in an emergency situation that you have all the suction you need.

The vaulted ceiling of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia is 80 feet above the floor with a stained glass oculus ringed by the painted decorations of Constantino Brumidi. The cathedral was first planned In 1846 on the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul. The design was begun shortly thereafter by Philadelphia architect Napoleon LeBrun who had also designed several other Catholic churches in the city, The Philadelphia Academy of Music, as well as some of the earliest skyscrapers in New York City.
