The Registry Room on Ellis Island is a grand hall with tall arched windows, tiled walls and ceiling with these Round chandeliers. For two decades in the early 1900s, this immense space was a loud and confusing place for immigrants coming to the United States. As many as 5,000 people a day filed through the complex inspection and registration process of the Immigration Service.

On your next snorkeling adventure, keep an eye out for this echinoderm, otherwise known as a sea urchin. It is quite the spiny Round specimen, looking more like a scrub brush for a sea turtle than a delicious meal for a sea otter or starfish. We're thinking this must be a peel-and-eat situation.

Even if the park was open in January, it's a bit cold to be swinging around on the Windseeker at Carowinds. Rotating up to 30 mph atop the 301-foot tower will give you a sense of weightlessness, and possibly frostbite.

Like 50s style hairdryers lined up at the salon, this row of spherical lights are set up to light your way along the sidewalk. You might want a blast of hot air for a stylish flip, wave or beehive hairdo, but don't put your head in here.

Traffic is thick and this poor little air bubble is trapped in the slow lane. Bubbles are moving much faster next door in the water tube, they all seem to be passing through no problem. If only there was a way to escape this tensile stress, it's like swimming through corn syrup.
