Every kid dreams of a giant funhouse and any time you are in St. Louis you've got one -- no matter what age kid you are. Packed into a 600,000 square-foot former International Shoe Company factory is the most fantastical, eclectic City Museum which is "a mixture of children’s playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel made out of unique, found objects." Here you can climb through elaborate Slinky pathways, explore tunnels and hidden hand-sculpted caves through a variety of unique and strange environments, slide down multi-story slides into giant ball pits, or ride a real old-fashioned Ferris wheel on the roof. The museum was created in 1997 by internationally acclaimed sculptor Bob Cassilly and is, as their tagline reads, "always building."
