The Basketball Hall of Fame has existed in three forms since 1959, the most current being the only one that actually resembles the sport. The 80,000 square foot metallic silver sphere emerged in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2002 and houses histories of the sport at all levels, interactive exhibits, a game gallery, an honor ring of inductees, and a full-sized basketball court in the center. Petitions can be started to rename the HOF as the "Hall of Round Ball."
