In perhaps the ultimate Round photo op, scientists from around the world are currently attempting to capture the first ever photograph of a black hole. This image isn't it, but a computer simulation. We'll see what the scientists can come up with.
Starting on April 5th and lasting until April 14th, observatories in the US, South America, Antarctica and Spain are working together to create what is, in effect, a radio telescope the size of the planet in the hopes of photographing the supermassive black hole theorized to sit in the centre of the Milky Way galaxy – Sagittarius A*.
