Swimming in the Irish Sea at Forty Foot in Dublin, Ireland has been a thing for around 250 years. The brave enjoy a quick plunge at any time of year. The water is cold, between 42° to 59° depending on the season. The rocky shoreline can be treacherous. There are no lifeguards. Hypothermia, near-drowning or death are certainly possibilities if you’re not careful. But, there are life rings close-by.
