Punching The Clock Round
This is an example of a Harland & Wolff time clock used by Islandmen to record their clocking in and out of work. During the construction of Titanic a simple system of small wooden time keeping boards were used. Each Islandman collected a 'board' at the start of the day and returned it as they left work. In order to deter 'time theft,' machines like this one were introduced into the shipyard to more accuately record workers hours.
