Fireman's Flashlight Round
A fireman's flashlight mounted to exterior of ca.1960 ladder truck is one small detail in a vast collection of planes, trains and automobiles at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. Formerly the Spencer Shops, the site was founded in 1896 as the largest steam locomotive servicing facility of the Southern Railway Company. Since re-opening as a museum in 1983, it has been dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of transportation in the state.
