Wishing Well Round
Look closely, do you see a white fish down in the well? In Irish folklore, it might be an enchanted fairy princess waiting for you to help release her. The edge of the wishing well presents a moment of anticipation and hesitation. Help the princess, drop in a coin or a button, or tie a piece of clothing to a nearby tree branch and any spoken wish may be granted. But wait... be careful what you say. The belief that water deities or fairies will provide healing powers or grant a wish comes with a price. A wish can conceal a curse.
