Every Space Blob Has A Story

This colorful blob of space stuff has a fascinating history. It's a supernova remnant, the leftover bits from after the explosive death of a new star.

The new star, likely the brightest supernova in recorded human history, lit up Earth’s sky in the year 1006 AD and was widely observed by various civilizations from different places on the Earth. It resides within our Milky Way Galaxy.
