Ponce de Leon Lighthouse Round
As a keeper at the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse on the Florida coast, your day's work would include frequent visits up 203 steps to get to the top of the 175 foot tower. Lighting the inlet coast for ships starting in 1887, the lighthouse has gone through many technological changes through the years, from the first kerosene lamp to an incandescent oil vapor lamp to a 500 watt electric lamp to eventual automation that eliminated the keeper altogether. In 2017, the Lighthouse still operates as a museum, and fortunately has survived Hurricane Irma's wrath.
