Wreath Crown Round
The Round Advent wreath is a symbol in the Christian faith of God's complete and unending love. Dating to 16th century Germany, the tradition has several interwoven meanings of the transition from winter to spring, darkness to light, hope to redemption. In 19th century Hamburg, Pastor Johann Wichern invented the modern wreath, a cartwheel with 24 candles for each day leading to Christmas. Sabine is modeling this crown wreath featuring today's more common candle arrangement - four that symbolize hope, peace, joy and love, with the fifth representing purity.
