A Cranberry Puck Round
No Thanksgiving meal is complete until a little hockey puck of cranberry sauce is served! It’s been a seasonal tradition since 1672 when Native Americans and European settlers boiled cranberries and sugar into a sauce to serve with their meat. Back then they didn’t have canned conveniences, but nowadays we enjoy around 70 million of them every year. And once you’ve opened one up and shaken loose that solid, tart cylinder of jellied fruit, you’re almost there. Just slice it into Rounds and garnish with a bed of arugula on a platter, and et voilà! Is the turkey ready yet?
