Light Up Your Round
Back in the late 1800s before electricity, people frequently (and dangerously) incorporated lit candles into their Christmas decorations for that twinkly festive mood. As a result, house fires were prevalent. Along came Thomas Edison who stepped up to invent a strand of electric lights in 1880, and two years later his business partner Edward H. Johnson created the first strand of Christmas tree lights. Soon, they were wrapped around trees, lining porches, sidewalks and roof gables, and, of course wrapped around Rounds.
