St. Paul's Rose Window Round
A large, circular window anchors the front facade of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Princeton, NJ. The radiating, rose-like tracery of the stained-glass window is typical for Gothic cathedrals and creates a mystical aura with intricate, symmetrical patterns of colored light in the interior spaces. The circular shape symbolizes eternity, unity, and the cyclical nature of life. This building was built in 1955, replacing a previous church built in 1869 on the Nassau Street site. It was conceived, designed and supervised by parishioner and architect, Thomas Henry Moran.
