Walking Around A Pomodoro Round
A 'Pomodoro Sphere' is a work of contrasts -- a smooth, polished surface cracked to reveal a complex inner fragmentation of gears and mechanical forms. The artwork represents the "ideal city" and the relationship between humanity and technology. It looks different from every angle -- and in every city. Sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro has several versions the "Sfera con sfera" (Sphere within sphere) installed around the globe, from the United Nations plaza in New York, to the Cortile del Belvedere at the Vatican Museums in Rome, to here on the podium of the iconic brutalist Library at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
