Spiral Saw Round
Helicoprion was a large marine carnivore that evolved in the early Permian period. Also called the “spiral saw”, they are best known for the spiral-shaped whorl of teeth embedded in their lower jaw, which they used to slice through prey. Despite their shark-like appearance, they were in fact more closely related to living ratfish.
