The Garden Of Godly Passions Round
Your garden of green is punctuated by a blood red hibiscus. Beautiful. Passionate. And yet a dangerous backstory. The flower is associated with the Hindu deity Kali, who sometimes is depicted merging in form with it. She is a fierce paradox as the goddess of both time and death, wearing a necklace of decapitated heads and a girdle of severed arms — which might explain all the red. To assuage one of her death rampages and protect earthly beings, her husband Shiva threw himself in front of her, and got trampled in the process. Don’t worry, he was OK. He’s a god! But the lesson here is… care for your hibiscus, people.
