Planetary Alignment Round
Opened in 1997 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the Ángel Ramos Foundation Visitor Center features interactive exhibits and displays about planetary studies, astronomy, atmospheric sciences, and the operations of the Arecibo Telescope. After supporting cables broke under the telescope in 2020, the 1,000 ft spherical reflector dish was decommissioned and ultimately collapsed before it could be repaired. The visitor center operates as an educational facility within the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center (NAIC) at the site.
