The Hazy Zote Round
In the misty, hazy pages of history, the origins of things, places and names can be a mystery. A Spanish map of the west coast of Florida from the 1760s includes the word "Zarazote" marked in the area of what is now Sarasota. It is speculated this was the source for the name of the city, but it is not a Spanish word. Where did it come from? What we do know is that the delicious, juicy, citrus-forward, unfiltered Calusa Zote IPA takes its name from the antique map.
