Despite the glitter ball’s iconic association with the disco era of the 1970s and “Saturday Night Fever” in particular, this mirror-clad Round is more than a century old. Patented in 1917, the flashy globe made its debut in nightclubs in the 1920s, where flappers danced The Charleston instead of foxy mamas doin’ The Hustle.
