Borromean Gone Mad Round
During the Olympic Games, we are awash in rings -- on television, flags, uniforms, products. The five interconnected rings as a symbol of the international event expresses activity and the unified gathering of individual athletes. Throughout history rings and groupings of them have represented unity, strength and infinity. Most common are Borromean Rings, composed of three interlocking circles where if one is removed, the structure will fall apart. In this bubbly construction, it seems there may be a few rings to spare, so in the spirit of the Games everyone take one home with you, OK?
