Union Station Great Hall Round
Union Station in Washington, D.C opened in 1907, and soon became a major transportation hub as Amtrak railroad's second-busiest train station. Within blocks of the United States Capitol, the main building was completed in 1908 and is inspired by Classical and Beaux-Arts architectural styles. The great vaulted spaces reference the Baths of Diocletian with ceilings nearly 100 feet tall and details in marble, gold leaf and white granite.
