Gaia Round
To change perceptions requires some distance. In 1972, NASA's Apollo 17 mission gave the world the now iconic "blue marble" Earth portrait, and for a long time, the only available view of the whole Round thing was via spacecraft or satellite. The 23-foot diameter Gaia art installation by Luke Jerram literally brings the world to you. The sphere is internally lit and uses detailed satellite imagery of the Earth's surface. You can walk all the way around the world in seconds, or watch as it slowly rotates before your eyes.
