When faced with an endgame battle with power-mad aliens, super-villains, or Nazis, you can't get much better protection than Captain America's iconic Round shield. Forged from steel and vibranium, Cap wields it as much an attack weapon a defensive one, with a single throw bouncing off multiple targets in succession and returning like a boomerang. When Cap first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 in 1940 punching Hitler in the face, his shield was a more traditional triangular shape, and not likely to boomerang off anything. But by issue #2, he was wielding the Round.
