The avacado is a fruit with one heck of a seed. With soft, creamy flesh you may not expect such a large, hard pit sitting in the center, but here it is. You have some options to deal with it. You can throw it out. If you spike it with toothpicks and float in a glass of water, you could try to grow a tree. There are some who propose grinding it up and blending into a smoothie for its nutritional benefits. We'll hold off on that for now.
