Hot Hot Heat Round
We've been hitting the century mark a lot this summer, as the heat has spiked around the country and people are sweltering in the triple digits. In the southwest, thermometers have stayed steady in the 100s, though nothing compared to the 120° projected for today in Death Valley, California. That's HOT! And that's why it's called Death Valley. July will mark the 108th anniversary of the hottest temperature ever recorded on the surface of the earth – you guessed it, here in Death Valley at Furnace Creek on July 10, 1913. The number? 134° Fahrenheit. Well, that's downright balmy compared to 120°.
