Balloon Eaten by Tree Round
With shocking swiftness, a coniferous Great White Pine breaches the forest canopy in an attempt to sink its branches into the blubbery Round Zooballoon hovering 400 feet in the air. Scientists and researchers observing close-by were awestruck to witness this rarely seen event. "These trees are powerful predators, with amazing speed. It was able to literally come out of the forest," said Susan Swivel, an arborist with the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
