Ammonite Spiral Round
The study of conchology will tell you that the spiral form of the ammonite fossil is made up of numerous chambers, each progressively larger than another and divided by thin shell walls called septa. To help regulate its buoyancy in the water, the ammonite passed gas through a thin tube called a siphuncle which extended from its body through the shell. Passing gas through a siphuncle. Hee hee.
