Disco Lightshow Round
THERE'S A PARTY GOIN' ON RIGHT HERE! The DJ is booming out four-to-the-floor non-stop beats, the dance floor is crowded with swirling sweaty bodies, and overhead there's this spinning, flashing, trippy strobe light Round. For a 5-year span in the mid 1970s, disco ruled the charts. By 1976 there were reportedly 10,000 discos throughout the U.S. Saturday Night Fever pushed the trend over the top in 1977-78, but by September 1979 disco as it had been burned out -- no songs charted in the Top 20. Styles may shift, music changes, and yet the beats and dance and Round swirling ceiling lights carry on -- you can't stop the music!
