Spiral of Life Round
Thick metal wire spirals out, seemingly unending, in this work by metal sculptor Fran Farrington. This detail is one of three spirals of a 'family portrait' representing Fran and his wife Colleen who was pregnant at the time with their son Jackson. Constructed from 1/4 inch steel wire knitted together with steel filament, it is symbolic of the cycle of life and the sturdiness of how things grow from the center outward.
