The vision of high-speed magnetic levitation travel has occupied many science fiction dreams, and the Hyperloop was an effort to make dreams a reality. Initiated as a white paper proposal by Elon Musk in 2013, ten years later the project had been taken on by Virgin and developed into the testing phase with a vehicle prototype sporting a Round door. As of December 2023, the effort had stalled and was shut down. Dreams still on the horizon.
