1930 Model A Phaeton Round
The pursuit of notorious bank robber John Dillinger by federal agents probably looked something like this. One of many vehicles Dillinger used, the 1930 Ford Model A Phaeton with a rear mounted spare had a top speed of 60 miles per hour. Whoa, just slow down there, Johnny! From January through July 1934, Dillinger was chased, captured, imprisoned, escaped and hid out across nine different states, leaving a trail of robbed banks, crashed or abandoned cars, and dead compatriots in his wake. After a stakeout by special agents, he was fatally shot outside the Biograph Theatre in Chicago on July 22, 1934.
