Hallgrímskirkja Clock Round
At the top of the 244-ft tower of Hallgrímskirkja, one can peek from inside the clock face of one of the tallest structures in Reykjavík, Iceland. Located atop Skólavörðuholtið hill, the Lutheran church is a distinctive landmark of the city skyline. Architect Guðjón Samúelsson designed the building in 1937 with references to Icelandic nature -- the steeple and wings inspired by basalt columns formed by thick lava flows. He died 36 years before the building was completed in 1986.
