The Atlantic Globe Round
Commissioned in 1978, this beautiful stained glass ceiling sculpture is installed in the historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Originally opened in 1929, the convention hall is known primarily for hosting the Miss America Pageant. The artwork contains more than 1500 individual glass pieces and features striped bass, blue-backed herring, butterfish, grouper, triggerfish, a ray, a green sea turtle, and a mermaid referencing the "Golden Mermaid" trophy that the first Miss America contestants competed for in the 1920s.
