Urge to Stand Round
If you're on a stroll in the Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco, you may want to take a seat on the bench in front of the massive "Urge to Stand" cast bronze and stainless steel machined sculpture. When you do, you will observe that the figure on top of the Round globe also sits down. When you stand, the figure stands. This kinetic experience is the creation of Chico MacMurtrie and his team at Amorphic Robot Works, and a way to connect the observer to our evolutionary urge to rise and walk.
