A sphere marks the center of Teachers Fountain in Portland, Oregon’s Simon and Helen Director Park, with an open pool where visitors can wade and interact with arcing jets and low burbles of water. A marble pillar reads, "Teachers Fountain is dedicated to teachers everywhere in honor of their selfless and untiring efforts to inspire the hearts and minds of their students. The work they do enriches all of our lives." The fountain was a contribution to the city from the Director and Moyer families in partnership with the Portland Parks Foundation and built in 2009.
