Which Way Are You Headed Round
Around the world, anthropologists have found that most cultures have identified four points of cardinal direction – north, south, east, west. Historically, directions were named based on natural phenomena, typically wind directions or the movement of the sun; but sometimes for geographic features such as "towards the hills" or "towards the sea." Generally called a compass rose and displayed in maps, charts and navigational systems, this Round is subdivided into 16-point radials identifying intermediate orientation points.
